ASK YOURSELF
Who would speak for you if you couldn’t?
It takes just a moment for things to change. Plan ahead with a lasting power of attorney, and keep in control if things go wrong.
Why do I need one?
There are so many reasons to get a lasting power of attorney, no matter your age or situation, but here’s our top three:
🌟
Protect your wishes
A Lasting Power of Attorney lets you chose who you’d like to be your voice. And importantly, it lets you decide which decisions can be made, and when.
⏱️
Avoid delays and costs
Without a Lasting Power of Attorney, your family needs to apply to the Court of Protection. This is costly, stressful, and takes a long time during a crisis.
🔐
Legally binding and secure
Your Lasting Power of Attorney is legally binding, with many safeguards to prevent its misuse. You’re able to select replacements, too.

Frequently Asked Questions.
It’s understandable that when it comes to important decisions about your future, that you might have questions. And some of them we’ve been asked before.
How long does the process take?
We’ll tell you our time frames once you’ve let us know what you’re looking for. Once we’ve received full instructions from you, you can expect to have confirmation that your documents have been drafted within seven days. We’ll either email you the documents, or post them to you – whichever you prefer.
How much does it cost to register?
Our fees don’t include the registration fee with the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG).
You’ll pay the OPG directly a fee to register your LPAs. This costs £164 for both, or £82 individually. You might be entitled to a reduction if you’re on certain benefits.
What if I change my mind in the future?
We understand that you might want to make a multitude of changes throughout your lifetime, and you can do this. But we’ll always help you to reach firm decisions before signing your LPA.
If you do need to change something, we’ll offer you a reduced price for re-drafting, but you’ll still need to pay additional fees to re-register your LPA.
